19-Twenty have been whipping up a frenzy on the festival scene. They are electric – an infectious riff and groove based blue-billy-grass-rockin’-roots band.
Imagine walking into a bar a little bit cut and a little bent sideways. You look to the stage, lights are turned down, amps cranked up. You hear one part Gary Clark Jnr, one part Black Keys, and a whole lot of drunken sailor. This is what the latest single ‘Sailor Jerry’ conjures.
The 19-Twenty lads have been performing their high-energy sonic-party nationally, headlining sell-out shows and festivals in all states and territories. Constantly on the road or in the sky, they have toured seven times around Oz and performed gigs throughout Europe including Belgium, The Netherlands, France, and a suite of gigs in London (a highlight was a spell at the famous Alley Cat nightclub in SoHo). Performing anywhere and everywhere, this straight-up 100% independent act have been blazing throughout Europe and Australia and gaining new music fans/fiends from their live shows.
Over the years they have supported the following acts (to name a few) – Cold Chisel, Diesel, Doug Macleod (US), Billy Thorpe, Ian Moss, The Radiators, Dallas Frasca, Dragon, Jeff Lang, Ray Beadle, Ash Grunwald, Toby and Code Red, Pete Cornelius, Mal Eastick, Steve Arvey (US), Paul Greene … and have played these festival stages:
Agnes Waters Blues & Roots Festival (QLD) • Anglesea Music Festival (VIC) • Blues on Broadbeach (QLD) • Blues at the Briars (VIC) • Bulli Folk Festival (NSW) • Blues at Bridgetown (WA) • Culburra Beach Festival (NSW) • Echuca Blues Festival (VIC) • Forth Blues Festival (TAS) • Geelong Motor Music Festival (VIC) • Girrakool Blues & BBQ, Mt Penang (NSW) • Goulburn Blues Festival (NSW) • Grampians Music Festival (VIC) • Great Southern Blues Festival (NSW) • Headstock Guitar Festival (NSW) • Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival (NSW) • Kiama Blues Festival (NSW) • Lock Stock (London, UK) • Mitchell Creek Blues Festival (QLD) • Narooma Blues (NSW) • National Folk Festival (ACT) • Oyster Festival, Narooma (NSW) • Queenscliff Music Festival (QLD) • Rock the Turf Festival, Tumut (NSW) • Shedrock Festival (VIC) • Sydney Blues Festival (NSW) • Thredbo Blues Festival (NSW) • Woodford Folk Festival (QLD) • Wollombi Music Fesitival (NSW)
A 19-Twenty show is something definitely not to be missed – ask for forgiveness not for permission. No rules, no limits. The closest to punk the Blues will ever get. Raucous and manic.
