Grand Casual

Hailing from the West Australian Coastal town of Esperance three-piece Grand Casual have been steadily building momentum since late 2017. A wide range of influences including Sticky Fingers and The Black Keys drive their sound which varies from track to track seamlessly incorporating elements of blues, jazz, soul.

Late 2017 and early 2018 has seen a flurry of activity with Grand Casual performing a number of shows in Esperance also further afield. A mini tour mid-January saw the band play Hopetoun, Denmark and Albany receiving praise for their high energy and diverse live show. Hard work has paid off over this time with the band appearing alongside some amazing acts including Old Blood, The Southern River Band, Ruby May, Myles Mitchell and the Hot Mama Band, New Zealand based blues duo Swamp Thing and West Australian rising talent Michael Dunstan.

Grand Casual released their first single ‘Soldiers’ on April 1st 2018, debuting at #1 on the unearthed rock/blues charts and #3 overall. Recorded by Esperance local Jayden Walker of Aerious Productions, mixed by Andy Lawson at Debaser Studios – and accompanied by a ‘uniquely Esperance’ music video by local film maker James Hollands – ‘Soldiers’ is being released to coincide with their appearance on the WAM Esperance/Goldfields touring circuit. The tour will feature Leonora based act The Tapping Sticks and Grand Casual as co headliners playing venues in Esperance, Norseman, Kalgoorlie and Leonora over a four-day period in early April. Selection for the tour has cemented the bands resolve and led to a highly driven outlook.

In February 2018 the band dived into writing new material with a view to debut fresh tracks on the upcoming WAM mini tour. 2018 holds great promise for the three piece from Esperance.
