Sometime assassins, sometime saints, Fremantle based rockers Lincoln MacKinnon & The Wrecking Train combine uplifting choruses, heartbreak harmonies and a barely contained menace to produce music that is as powerful as it is memorable.
Following on from his first studio album, ‘Little By Little a Little Later’, 2019 saw Lincoln release his sophomore album ‘Sparks Will Fly’ – a journey through unruly worlds of desert towns & wild camaraderie. Before living in Fremantle, Lincoln spent three years in the remote central Australian town of Tennant Creek (NT). Rich in stories of love, loss and chaos, this red-desert town inspired a spree of songwriting and formed the inspira- tion for his album.
With recent shows across the country with celebrated Australian artists: Tex Perkins,
Kill Devil Hills, William Crighton, and The Southern River Band, these port-town rockers have been wowing crowds across the country with their infectious melodies; energetic live shows and wild and unruly swagger.
“Front man Lincoln MacKinnon stalks the stage like a tousle-haired Delta preacher who’s just about to experience the rapture while high on amphetamines. He’s unpredictable, mesmerising and shakes out his words and guitar licks like he’s been shot through with electricity. Backed by one of the best bands going around, MacKinnon and his unholy henchmen own the stage.” • Andrew Thompson, Around The Sound
