Myles Mitchell is a fun-loving, genre-hopping, song-writing, story-telling, joke-cracking live wire with his own blend of hip shaking alternative blues… & The Great Southern Roots are a high energy dance machine who take this original music experience to the next level.
In 2017 Mitchell released the single “Together Like This” which reached number 10 on the Triple J Unearthed charts (blues/roots category). A new album is set for release mid 2018. He evokes the lyrical storytelling of Johnny Cash, the baritone vocal stylings of Jim Morrison (The Doors), and the sounds of West Australian blues and roots to create his own style of songwriting which is worldly, wise, relevant, sexy, surprising and downright fun.
Born out of the Perth blues scene and schooled on tour in the USA, Mitchell distils a rich array of life experiences and global excursions into this deeply West Australian musical experience.
Recent festival appearances include Denmark Festival of Voice 2017 & 2018, Ningalens Festival 2017 (Exmouth), and WA Circus Festival 2018.
