Simone has collaborated with The West End Gospel Choir and band members of Amy Winehouse, Maynard Ferguson, Tom Jones, Courteney Pine, Jason Mraz and Adele. Her music is a fusion of these contemporary influences, and her own straight-ahead roots, burgeoned during a Summer spent singing in New Orleans, and inspired by the music of Nina Simone, Dr John, Ray Charles and Erykah Badu.
Simone delivers originals and covers alike, with a charisma born of a dual career on the West End stage. Last year, Simone released her first two original singles and her Birth of Blues project was featured in the 104th issue of UK magazine, Blues Matters, alongside Joe Bonnamassa. She recently sold out The Ellington in Perth with her Homecoming concert and launched the Australian premiere of Birth of Blues to a full house at Duke of George in Fremantle.
She’s performed at The Houses of Parliament in Westminster and for the rich and famous in Monte Carlo and this weekend she is over the moon to make her Bridgetown Blues Festival debut! Simone is joined by award-winning, local legends, to deliver some toe-tapping, whiskey-toting, hip-swaying jazz, blues, gospel & groove.
