Stumptown

Stumptown

At the very time the blues was taking a foothold in the southern states of America a tough breed of Australian pioneers were carving a place for themselves in the wild south west of Australia.

Blues is about storytelling. It draws on dialogue and music handed down from generation to generation, from musician to musician.

These four Stumptown boys were born on the land, grew up knowing the good life wasn’t going to be handed to them on a plate, but they were told that if they worked hard they could make it. Outback towns teach you the importance of sticking together and that’s exactly what these boys did. They had a hankering for the blues and they knew how to play. In a small town word travels fast and it wasn’t long before they got a following.

Stumptown performs lesser known material from the great blues musicians, along with originals of our own pioneering history.

Stumptown blues is raw, passionate and powerful.

If you ain’t tapping your feet and swaying your hips by the end of the first song, then you’d better check your pulse.
