The West Coast Blues Club burst onto the scene with its opening night on 1st August 2001, and nearly two decades later is still going strong. The club is dedicated to keeping Blues music alive – by providing a friendly welcoming atmosphere to all past, present and future members as well as Blues music lovers.
The club has a commitment to providing a venue for like-minded musicians to connect, interact and perform together. Every month the club has a different top-class main act, plus support act – covering a wide range of blues type music from old-school Blues – to roots and alternative Blues styles. Every Club Blues Session has something to offer both players and the public. It’s a load of fun for all.
The club’s base is at the Fremantle Navy Club. It’s a great venue UPSTAIRS on the corner of 64 High Street and Pakenham Street, Fremantle. There’s a huge stage and the drinks and food prices are very reasonable. 🙂
Nick Leach • President – Has always been a Blues fan, became the club webmaster ten years ago and has been El Presidente for the past eight years. Plays guitar, bass and sings the odd vocals.
John Smoker • Vice President – Been in bands for a long time, knows the business well. Passionate about The Blues, keen to share it and to help.
Julie Butler • Treasurer and Administrator of all things complicated.
Plus, a great bunch of very supportive committee members who put in a lot of time and effort, including Greg Rowse, Greg Lewis, Lorraine Thompson, Mark Hutchinson, Mike Stone, just to name a few.
